Job summary

K Group Companies, a Grand Rapids, MI-based technology service provider, is seeking a Field Service Technician I to install and maintain low voltage systems and train customers on operation. You will collaborate with a team and also work independently to ensure precise execution across various sites.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on field experience, IT networking familiarity, ability to read drawings, and strong communication skills, plus a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience.
• Knowledge of basic IT networking, configurations and IP addressing.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Team management/supervisor experience.
• Previous experience completing projects within scope.
• Previous experience with service ticketing processes.
• Any previous knowledge in fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have valid US Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project quotes and scopes before beginning an onsite execution.
• Inspects installation sites, studies work orders, architectural plans, and comprehensive installation methods.
• Installs low voltage cabling, devices, and systems, adhering to precise specifications, relevant codes, and industry practices, as directed by their supervisor.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with installed systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of systems as needed.
• Respond promptly to service calls and customer inquiries.
• Travel extensively across mostly within the Midwest and on occasion weekends that are necessary for multiple sites; Home most weekends.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain customer satisfaction.
