Job summary

K Group Companies seeks a Field Service Technician I to install and service low voltage systems, deliver basic customer training, and ensure precise, quality installations.

Responsibilities include reviewing quotes, inspecting sites, installing cabling and devices per codes, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance. Travel is primarily Midwest-based, with most weekends at home. Strong communication and IT networking familiarity are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Hands-on/field experience in relevant roles.
• Working knowledge of basic IT networking, configurations and IP addressing.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Experience leading teams or supervising projects.
• Experience delivering service projects within defined scope.
• Familiarity with service ticketing processes.
• Knowledge of fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid US Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Review project quotes and scopes before onsite execution.
• Inspect installation sites, study work orders, architectural plans, and installation methods.
• Install low voltage cabling, devices, and systems per specs, codes and industry practices.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with installed systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of systems.
• Respond promptly to service calls and customer inquiries.
• Travel extensively across the Midwest; some weekends may be needed; home most weekends.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain customer satisfaction.
