Intertek in Portland, OR is seeking a Construction Materials Field Technician I to join our team. You will learn a versatile set of testing and observation duties under supervision, gaining hands-on experience in soil, concrete, and site assessments.

The role offers on-the-job training, safety-focused environment, and opportunities to advance within a leading quality and safety solutions provider. Valid driver's license required; ability to lift 30-50 pounds; outdoor work in varying weather

Qualifications

• No Experience Required – in-house training provided
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record
• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30–50 pounds frequently and work outdoors
• Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written communication
• Willingness to work off shifts and overtime

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of testing, project-specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures
• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
• Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks
• Make detailed observations and give limited interpretation of results
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results
• Communicate effectively with client and project teams
• Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies
