Job summary

Intertek is seeking an Entry Level Field Technician I in Canton, OH to perform testing, site observations and data collection under supervision.

The role involves operating testing equipment (soil, concrete, etc.), using drawings and specs, and maintaining detailed test records. Occasional outdoor work, travel up to 25%, lifting up to 50 lbs, and the ability to work on a variety of projects.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, hearing, and to discern sounds.
• Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights.

Responsibilities

• Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (soil, concrete, etc.) and provide assessment of data through reporting.
• Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
• Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
