Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Texas seeks an entry-level Survey Helper to support field crews with surveying tasks and basic measurements. You will work under supervision and gain hands-on experience.

Responsibilities include establishing elevations, marking features, handling survey chains, and operating tools. Candidates should be able to work outdoors in all weather and lift tools as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor related to surveying needs, such as cutting brush for lines, carrying stakes, and right of way markers delineate features of all phase’s construction project.
• Assist and learn the task of establishing elevations and grades as required
• Install or mark elevations as instructed by the Surveying Journeyman
• Assist and learn to measure distances manually with survey chains using a plumb bob and maintain survey chains to insure accuracy and consistency
• Learn to set up items associated with electronic measuring and sighting and perform these actions as needed
• Operates and maintains survey tools and instruments
