Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) seeks an entry‑level Safety Specialist to support and audit our safety programs in the field, reporting to a project Safety Manager and ensuring Site Specific Safety Plans are followed.

You will collaborate with craft personnel, assist with incident investigations, maintain OSHA/MSHA compliance, and help implement corrective actions while supporting training and risk reduction across MEC projects nationwide.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing, reviewing, updating, and communicating the Site Specific Safety Plan.
Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in.
Exercise Stop Work Responsibility to enforce safety policies.
Plan and problem-solve with operations using leading indicator trends.
Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Maintain project files in OSHA/MSHA compliance and organize safety training.
