Job summary

Harder Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer to support the construction of a large-scale data center in rural Texas.

This entry-level role provides an early path into project management, working with project teams, field leadership, and stakeholders to deliver mechanical scopes safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will plan, schedule, and execute scoped work, review drawings, monitor progress, and help organize records.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam with intermediate Excel skills.
• Ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of people including suppliers, field crews, designers, and owners.
• Self-starter, motivated and takes initiative.
• Organized and productive.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Learn and promote safety policies and protocols.
• Review drawings, compile project scope and quantities.
• Coordinate with design engineers, owner reps, and team members to resolve issues.
• Monitor field construction and ensure compliance with plans.
• Engage in work sequence planning and develop work packages.
• Track progress and maintain documentation.
