Job summary

IPG Photonics in Marlborough, MA is seeking an entry-level fiber assembler to prepare fibers for medical surgical products. Assemblers use hand tools and light power tools to process fiber in a manufacturing setting.

No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided, with emphasis on safety and accuracy. You will work with a collaborative team and gain skills in fiber handling and basic production software.

Qualifications

• Education: High school or equivalent; vocational school preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Skills: read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or schematics; basic computer literacy (MS Office, data entry, production software).
• Physical: ability to lift up to 15 lbs and stand/bend/reach for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and join parts into housing using hand tools and power tools.
• Follow work orders and cleave/test fiber as instructed.
• Add RF tag, measure and align fiber for laser systems.
• Send completed fiber to stock, then to packaging and labeling.
• Record orders in production database and coordinate with QA.
