Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Family Services Specialist I to join our community services team in Virginia. This entry-level role trains under supervision in child and adult protective services, foster care/adoption, and employment services.

You will perform routine to journey-level casework with supervisor review and potential advancement after training. Strong communication and organization are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or a Bachelor's degree with two years related experience.
• Possession of a BSW or MSW is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret laws, policies and regulations as applied to responsibility area.
• Coordinate and administer programs within area of responsibility.
• Interview and assess customer needs and factors such as education, skills, abilities, interests, and support systems.
• Provide case management services to monitor compliance.
• Track expenditures and prepare budget estimates; ensure payments for services.
• Coordinate with other agencies and participate in interagency teams.
• Provide after-hours on-call coverage and respond to emergencies in child/adult protective services and/or foster care.
