Job summary

Gfoat is seeking an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform preventive, routine, and basic repairs on City facilities and grounds. You’ll operate common tools, read simple diagrams, and support renovation projects under supervision.

Two years of maintenance experience are preferred along with a valid Texas driver’s license. The role includes safety training and opportunities to grow into more specialized tasks within the Building & Community Services Department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of facility/building maintenance experience.
• Valid Texas driver’s license required at time of appointment.
• TDLR Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certification required/preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance on City facilities, buildings, grounds, and related infrastructure.
• Performs maintenance and repairs involving carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, doors, hardware, windows, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, masonry, locksmithing, and other building components.
• Assists with construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects including demolition, framing, finishing, and installation of fixtures and equipment.
• Inspects facilities to identify maintenance deficiencies and reports needs requiring outside contractor services.
• Maintains inventories of tools and supplies and assists with ordering and distribution of materials.
