Job summary

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) is seeking an entry-level Environmental Geologist/Scientist to support field assessment work and remediation projects across Louisiana, based out of the Baton Rouge area office.

The role involves field sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air), data analysis, and preparing technical reports for regulatory agencies. You will collaborate with licensed professionals and senior staff to develop protection and compliance strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, or related earth sciences.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic understanding of environmental consulting industry.
• HAZWOPER training (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations and collect soil and water samples.
• Use field equipment and follow quality standards for sampling.
• Assist in preparing environmental assessment and regulatory reports.
• Analyze data from laboratory and field analyses.
• Work under a senior professional and participate in planning.
• Develop groundwater contour maps using field water level data.
• Assist with well canvasses and receptor evaluations.
• Coordinate field events and supervise subcontractors when needed.
• Support site rehabilitation planning and regulatory compliance strategies.
• Identify remedial solutions compliant with regulations.
