Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Related experience may be substituted for education.
  • Certification of Engineer-in-Training as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers must be met for non-engineering grads before permanent status.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process air emission license applications for facilities statewide.
  • Conduct compliance assistance activities and write/ review technical reports.
  • Participate in rule making activities and interact with stakeholders and agencies.
  • Interface with facilities, consultants, and EPA as needed.
  • Perform engineering calculations for emission rates and controls.
