Job summary

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an Environmental Engineer in Augusta to manage Clean Water State Revolving Loan (SRF) projects, including grants and federal reimbursements. This role coordinates with the Division of Water Quality Management and interacts with EPA and other partners to ensure compliance and successful loan administration.

The position requires a PE license and a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, plus four years of engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Civil, Sanitary, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering and four (4) years of engineering experience.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the DEP SRF loan process, including state wastewater grants and federal Special Purpose Grants.
  • Review funding applications, engineering plans and specifications, onsite construction review, and payment requisitions.
  • Provide documentation for federal record keeping on Clean Water SRF projects and coordinate with EPA and other agencies.
