Job summary

Five Star Electric Corp., a Tutor Perini Company, in Ozone Park, NY, seeks a motivated Entry-Level Electrical Estimator to join the estimating team. You will assist senior estimators in preparing cost estimates for commercial, transportation, infrastructure, and public works projects in the New York metropolitan area.

Qualifications

• 0–2+ years of experience in construction, electrical contracting, estimating, or related field preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
• Review electrical plans, bid documents, and contract specifications.
• Help prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Solicit and track pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of bid proposals.
• Maintain bid logs, estimate files, and project documentation.
• Support the estimating team during bid reviews and project handoffs.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel.
• Learn industry estimating software and company estimating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the estimating department.
