Job summary

Five Star Electric Corporation in New York seeks an entry-level Electrical Estimator to join our corporate estimating team at the Ozone Park office. This role assists senior estimators on cost estimates for commercial, transportation, infrastructure and public works projects in the NY metro area.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred), 0–2+ years in construction or estimating, and proficiency with Excel; familiarity with drawing interpretation is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar preferred.
• 0–2+ years in construction, electrical contracting, estimating, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
• Review electrical plans, bid documents, and contract specifications.
• Help prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Solicit and track pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of bid proposals.
• Maintain bid logs, estimate files, and project documentation.
• Support the estimating team during bid reviews and project handoffs.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel.
