Job summary

Cree LED, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Operations Support Technician in Durham, NC, to help with logistics, safety, and administrative tasks on a Monday–Friday on-site schedule.

You will handle shipments, SAP transactions, and safety duties while learning complex systems in a collaborative team environment. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, adherence to safety protocols, and hands-on duties with hazardous materials handling and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality to support emergency response and shipping deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail to manage inventory and maintain documentation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Planning, Procurement, and R&D.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and handle 55-gallon drums using appropriate moving equipment.
• Ability to wear all required PPE (including respirators and chemical-resistant gear) without restriction when performing safety or response duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized warehouse using 5S standards to ensure a clean and efficient workspace.
• Process domestic and international shipments using FedEx software with accurate labeling and documentation.
• Execute SAP transactions including Goods Receipts, STOs, Purchase Orders, and Service Confirmations.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to confirm timely receipt and proper staging of materials.
• Follow guidelines for packaging and labeling hazardous materials for shipping by land and air.
• Safely move drums and heavy containers using pallet jacks and drum dollies.
• Support EHS daily contract safety walks and facility audits with the EHS Manager.
• Assist with labeling waste streams and maintaining hazardous waste areas per regulations.
• Log safety inspections and compliance data using Brightly software.
