Job summary

Entrust Solutions Group is seeking a Design Engineer I to join our Electric Distribution Design team, supporting major utility providers in the Northeast. This role offers mentorship, hands-on design work, and exposure to industry standards while you advance your engineering career.

You will develop designs, work with GIS tools, and collaborate with project teams to deliver reliable power infrastructure. The position emphasizes growth, teamwork, and client-facing project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Electrical Engineering preferred; related disciplines will be considered).
• Internship, co-op, or professional experience supporting electric utilities, power delivery, distribution design, or related infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn electric utility design principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for electric distribution systems.
• Develop construction work packages and supporting design documentation.
• Utilize design software and GIS-based tools to create and maintain utility designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, designers, and utility clients to support project delivery.
• Assist with field data collection and verification activities as needed.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Participate in client meetings and gain exposure to utility standards and engineering practices.
• Learn and apply utility design standards, company procedures, and industry best practices.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced consulting environment.
