Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Design Engineer (EIT) to join our Municipal team in Cedar Rapids. You will support project managers and engineers with design and construction activities and help deliver safe, sustainable communities.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree, be or be eligible for EIT within 12 months, and be proficient in CAD software. Willingness to travel during construction season is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Certification as Engineer-in-Training or eligible to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Experience in infrastructure design and/or construction observation preferred.
• Proficient with CAD and design software such as AutoCAD Civil3D or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects.
• Perform basic design computations and preliminary layout.
• Prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates for projects.
• Support project plans, specifications, and reports; assist with construction observation activities.
