Bolton & Menk, Inc. in Milwaukee is hiring an entry-level Design Engineer, EIT, to join our Municipal team as we expand our footprint. You will support project managers and engineers on municipal design and construction tasks, helping ensure safe, sustainable and beautiful communities.

The role targets May 2027 graduates or an experienced EIT with 1-3 years of experience, with responsibilities ranging from design computations to field observations and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering/environmental engineering from an accredited college.
• Certified Engineer-in-Training or able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Prior experience in either infrastructure design and/or construction observation.
• Working knowledge and skills in CAD and design software (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation).
• Requires frequent travel during construction season.
• Possess a valid driver's license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects.
• Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
• Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take-off estimates.
• Construction observation activities may include performing construction staking, documenting activities, measuring and testing, and interacting with contractors and City staff.
