Job summary

The Department of State seeks an entry-level professional to perform statutory review of corporate, UCC, and franchise tax documents in Delaware. You will support attorneys, corporate officials, and the public while handling routine assignments under supervision.

Responsibilities include processing documents, assisting clients, performing tax-related calculations, and using the DCIS system. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with Delaware law, and ongoing learning of new regulations.

Qualifications

• Six months' experience in customer service, providing prompt and courteous service.
• Six months' experience in office support tasks such as drafting routine correspondence, reports, or logs, operating office equipment, handling mail, answering phones.
• Six months' experience in math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, or decimals.
• Six months' experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
• Associate's degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and processes legal corporate and Uniform Commercial Code documents. Conducts research and determines if requirements are met; assists clients.
• Answers questions from attorneys, corporate officials, registered agents, and the public concerning UCC and corporate documents, legal filings, franchise taxes, and corporate fees.
• Conducts collection activities for franchise taxes, interest, penalties, corporate, and UCC fees.
• Performs mathematical calculations relative to franchise taxes, penalties and interest, corporate, and UCC fees.
• Uses the Delaware Corporations Information System (DCIS) and imaging system to obtain information and enter data required in processing requests.
• Conducts outreach to customers to ensure accuracy and quality of work submitted.
