Job summary

Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant is seeking motivated Entry Level Cook 1 to join multiple dining venues on a full-time basis. The role offers $15/hr and variable schedules, with weekends and holidays required.

You will work under the Sous Chef to support daily kitchen operations, prep ingredients, and cook using grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, and boil techniques while maintaining safety and high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain).
• 6 months of culinary experience OR equivalent culinary education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.).
• Cook food using a variety of methods (grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil).
• Ensure food is properly seasoned, garnished, and visually appealing.
• Follow standardized recipes and preparation methods.
• Taste food prior to service to ensure quality.
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with kitchen setup, service, and cleanup.
• Minimize waste through proper portioning and production levels.
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
