Job summary

Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant is hiring an Entry Level Cook 1 across multiple dining venues. This full-time role offers $15/hr with varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.

You will assist the kitchen under the Sous Chef, prepare ingredients, cook with grill, fry, bake, steam, and ensure quality, presentation, and food safety.

Requirements: English literacy, Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain), and 6 months of culinary experience or equivalent education/experience.

Qualifications

• 6 months of culinary experience OR equivalent culinary education/experience.
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.)
• Cook food using various methods (grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil)
• Season, garnish, and present dishes appealingly
• Follow standardized recipes and prep methods
• Taste food prior to service to ensure quality
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards
