Job summary

Modigent is seeking an entry-level Controls Technician I to support installation, startup, and maintenance of DDC systems in office buildings, hospitals, schools, and industrial facilities. Under supervision, you’ll gain hands-on experience with entry-level tasks while learning to deliver safe, reliable controls solutions that boost energy efficiency.

You will learn to work with BACnet, LON, Tridium/Niagara platforms and other equipment, receiving structured training and mentorship to grow into

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or trade training preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; OSHA 10-hour encouraged.
• 0–3 years in related field; strong aptitude and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with installation, wiring, termination, and startup of building automation systems.
• Support basic troubleshooting, calibration, and preventive maintenance under direct guidance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and control diagrams for accurate work.
• Prepare tools/parts, document findings, and complete basic work orders.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and vehicles; load/unload equipment.
• Participate in safety briefings, hazard analyses, and PPE compliance.
• Learn controls platforms (BACnet, LON, Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell) on the job.
• Communicate observations with customers and team members to build knowledge.
