Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking an entry-level corporate controls engineer to support manufacturing operations, assist with equipment implementation/startup, and develop electrical controls designs, PLC/HMI programming, data collection and optimization of manufacturing processes.

The successful candidate will be assigned to AM shift is 6:00AM - 6:10PM. This results in a rotating 36/48-hour work week schedule, which includes working every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 1–5 years of manufacturing equipment controls engineering experience.
• Understanding of global facilities and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supports manufacturing facilities, including remote support of worldwide facilities.
• Designs, programs, and coordinates small-scale control systems and projects.
• Assists with coordination of new equipment installation and implementation.
• Maintains and updates manufacturing process tool electrical drawings, ensuring changes are tracked and drawings kept current.
• Troubleshoots and solves equipment controls related issues.
• Interfaces with multiple departments to ensure adherence to controls standards.
• Assists senior engineers on large projects.
• Maintains effective communication and team building.
• Ensures adherence to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
