Job summary

First Solar is seeking an entry-level Automation Technician to support manufacturing operations, assist with equipment startup, PLC/HMI programming, and troubleshoot control systems. The role is assigned to a PM shift (6:00 PM – 6:10 AM) with a rotating 36/48-hour schedule that includes working every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Qualifications include 2+ years of manufacturing controls experience (or 5+ years with no degree) and a background in electrical/electronic controls, AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing equipment electrical/electronic/controls experience.
• Possible degree preferred; alternative 5+ years related industry experience.
• Ability to interpret data and troubleshoot manufacturing control systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD for electrical schematics and layouts.
• Knowledge of Rockwell Logix PLCs and HMI programming required.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing facilities and provide remote assistance as needed.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems.
• Coordinate new equipment installation and MES integration events.
• Update CAD drawings and track equipment changes.
• Implement software changes as directed by Controls Engineering.
