Job summary

Nexamp's Lawrence, MA Operations Center is seeking a Junior Control Room Operator to monitor and remotely operate our solar and energy storage assets 24/7. You will identify alarms, perform basic troubleshooting, document actions, and escalate issues per SOPs to ensure safety and uptime.

The role requires 0–2 years of related experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work 40 hours weekly including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of related experience in a technical, operations, control room, utility, or similar environment.
• Basic knowledge of electricity/electrical terms (voltage, current, power, energy) is a plus.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production and operational status of solar and battery energy storage systems using Nexamp monitoring tools and SOPs.
• Review, acknowledge, analyze, and prioritize alarms and alerts, escalating to field service and stakeholders as needed.
• Perform basic remote troubleshooting and control actions within SOPs and document actions taken.
• Communicate with customers, utilities, equipment manufacturers, field technicians, and Nexamp teams to coordinate issue resolution.
• Manage and triage the operations email inbox and vendor communications per SOPs.
• Maintain logs of outages, events and resolutions to support reporting and root cause analysis.
• Seek to optimize monitoring practices, alarm configurations, and SOPs with the team.
• Occasionally work overtime to support Operations Center needs.
