Job summary

UAH College of Business is seeking a Junior Contract Administrator in Alabama to support sponsored programs. This entry-level, non-exempt staff role focuses on proposal preparation, budget development, and pre-award coordination using Kuali.

You will assist in submitting proposals, monitoring award actions, and maintaining data accuracy across contracts, sub-awards, and related payments in a dynamic university setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1-3 years of verifiable full-time work experience or equivalent combination.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with common web browsers (Google, IE, Chrome).
• Strong interpersonal communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop proposal budgets in collaboration with senior staff and prepare proposals for submission via Kuali.
• Ensure compliance with federal and OSP guidelines.
• Review contracts and grants terms and prepare documents for review or signature; learn to set up awards in Kuali and establish reporting due dates.
• Read, comprehend, and apply proposal submission and award administration instructions.
• Prepare, review, proofread, and edit reports per sponsor guidelines.
• Perform data entry and maintenance for accuracy; operate Kuali or agency websites.
• Manage assigned center/contract with low volume and submission requirements.
• Provide training and daily instructions as needed.
• Handle pre-award documentation tasks with short turn-around times.
• Engage internal/external entities tactfully under tight deadlines.
