Job summary

Austin Commercial, a leader in the commercial construction industry, seeks Construction Project Engineers for large commercial projects. The role supports project management with quantity take-offs, submittals and logs while maintaining schedule integrity.

We are an ESOP-owned firm offering exposure to a broad network of construction professionals. The position provides growth in estimating and safety practices, emphasizing accuracy and organization.

Responsibilities

• Notifies subcontractors of commencement dates and expedites deliveries to avoid delays.
• Prepares quantity take-offs for proposed changes.
• Oversees submittal schedule and logs; ensures timely submissions and routes to relevant parties.
• Generates reports such as material logs, submittal logs, RFI logs, drawing logs, and long-lead items logs.
• Verifies monthly subcontractor payment requests.
• Locates suppliers for building materials and reviews invoices for quantity, quality and price.
• Prepares RFIs for project architect/engineer and routes responses to field team.
• Assists in compiling close-out documents (as-built drawings, warranties, manuals) for owner delivery.
• When not on a project, assists Estimating with detailed cost estimates and value engineering.
• Participates in jobsite safety per Safety & Health Manual.
• Other duties as assigned

Education

B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field
