Austin Commercial is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer for our North Texas Division. You will support project leadership with scheduling, submittals, RFIs, and cost control while coordinating with owners, architects, and subcontractors on complex projects.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 years’ work experience in the construction industry.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training completed (may obtain within first year).
• Experience with RFI, submittals, and punch-list.
• Authorized to work in the United States; Austin Commercial cannot sponsor visa.

Responsibilities

• Notify subcontractors of commencement dates; solicit delivery schedules and expedite deliveries.
• Assist in estimating cost and schedule changes; update contract plans and master schedule.
• Prepare submittal schedules; manage submissions with logs and timely transmittals.
• Prepare/oversee reports like material, submittal, RFI, and drawing logs.
• Assist PM with subcontracts; resolve interpretation/execution issues; suggest alternatives.
• Assist in verifying monthly subcontractor payment requests.
• Locate suppliers; review invoices for quantity, quality, and price.
• Respond to RFIs from owners/subcontractors and route to site team.
• Assist in compiling close-out documents for delivery to owner.
• Participate in jobsite safety per Safety & Health Manual.
• When on non-project work, support estimating with cost estimates and value engineering.
