Job summary

Austin Commercial is hiring an entry-level Construction Project Engineer for large commercial projects. You will perform a variety of engineering duties related to project management and assist the Estimating team with quantity take-offs and cost estimates.

Qualified candidates hold a B.S. in construction management/science or engineering, have internship experience, and can obtain OSHA 30-Hour training within a year.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in construction management/science, engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Internship experience with a construction company strongly preferred
• Successful completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training (may obtain within first year)
• Entry level position

Responsibilities

• Notify subcontractors of start dates and expediting schedules to avoid delays
• Prepare quantity take-offs for proposed changes and estimates
• Assist in submittal scheduling and ensure accurate transmittals with subcontractors and architects
• Maintain logs for submittals, RFIs, drawings, and long-lead items per procedures
• Assist in verifying monthly subcontractor payment requests
• Locate suppliers and verify quantities, quality and prices for materials
• Respond to RFIs and route information to field personnel
• Assist in compiling close-out documents and warranties for owner delivery
• Work in Estimating when not assigned to a project, including detailed cost estimates
• Participate in jobsite safety as outlined in the Safety & Health Manual
• Perform other duties as assigned
