Job summary

NOVA Engineering in Raleigh, NC is seeking full-time Construction Materials Testing / Engineering Technicians. You will perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and related materials and review blueprints to plan observations on construction sites.

You will document findings using Metafield and other systems, communicate results to project management, and assist with calibrating equipment to industry codes.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections preferred; willing to hire entry-level with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• ACI Certification is a plus.
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; PPE provided.
• Ability to maneuver equipment on uneven ground and active sites.

Responsibilities

• Field test soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregate and masonry materials per spec.
• Review blueprints to plan field observations.
• Document field activities and test results in project records.
• Record testing data in Metafield or other systems.
• Communicate results with project staff, contractors, and clients.
• Calibrate field and lab equipment to industry codes and standards.
