Job summary

NOVA Engineering is seeking an Entry Level Construction Technician in Raleigh, NC. This full-time, on-site role offers training to become proficient in construction materials testing and engineering observations.

You will support field testing, blueprint reviews, and documentation of results on diverse projects. We provide classroom and on-the-job training, with pathways to certifications across aggregate, asphalt, soil, reinforced concrete and masonry.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections preferred, but entry-level with willingness to learn is OK
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs repeatedly
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to maneuver equipment on uneven ground and active job sites

Responsibilities

• Perform field tests on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry materials to meet specs
• Review blueprints for field observations and testing needs
• Document activities, observations and results accurately
• Record results in Metafield or similar systems
• Communicate results with project staff and clients
• Calibrate field and lab equipment to industry standards
