Job summary

Certerra-Southern Engineering in Raleigh, NC seeks an entry-level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to perform testing of concrete, soils, and aggregates on active construction sites to verify compliance with project documents. You will help verify compliance with project documents and safety standards while gaining hands-on training in field and lab testing.

High school diploma or GED required; valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Concrete/Grout/Mortar inspection and testing
• Monitoring for proper placement techniques
• Testing for slump, air content, unit weight, temperature
• Molding of compressive strength specimens
• Core drilling
• Soil/Aggregate testing
• Testing density/compaction
• Observing proof rolling
• Verifying moisture content
• Checking bearing capacity for foundation support
• Excavation quantification
