Job summary

Actalent in Raleigh, NC is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to perform field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates, and to document results in field and digital reports. You will help ensure project specifications and codes are met while communicating findings to project managers and clients.

This fully onsite role emphasizes safety, calibration of testing equipment, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in construction materials testing or related field.
• Certifications (ACI, NICET, ICC) or ability to obtain.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing and inspection of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate.
• Conduct tests including compaction, slump, air content, density, and moisture.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with plans.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Communicate findings with project managers and contractors.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed.
