Certerra Southern Engineering has an immediate opening for a full-time entry level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role is suited for someone who enjoys a fast-paced consultant environment, is amenable to travel, and works well within a collaborative team.

We are a consulting firm focusing on geotechnical, construction materials testing, and environmental engineering services.

Qualifications

0-2 years of construction materials testing experience.
ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification (preferred).
Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A valid driver’s license and clean driving history.

Responsibilities

Field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
Maintaining required certifications (ACI, ICC, NCDOT).
Coordinating with clients and Project Managers.
Travel to client facilities as needed.
Report writing and computer skills.
Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.
Assists higher level technicians on complex tasks.
Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration.
Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
