Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an entry-level Construction Field Engineer based in Tampa, FL. You will participate in engineering investigations, monitor construction activities for compliance with plans, and perform material tests and basic field calculations. This role requires a Civil Engineering degree and physical capability for labor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college/university.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and to understand contract plans and specifications.
• Physically fit to perform manual labor and lift up to 60 lbs.
• No professional registrations required but should actively pursue certifications in nuclear density, aggregate, concrete and asphalt testing, and/or other contractually required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Participates in investigations and planning by completing well-defined tasks using established procedures.
• Observes construction activities for substantial compliance with contract plans and specifications and reports deficiencies.
• Samples and tests soil density, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
• Verifies form construction rebar placement, concrete mixture, pile driving blow counts, drainage structure placement, subgrade and base construction.
• Writes diary inspection reports, weather reports, and documents test results and observations.
• Performs basic calculations to measure, track and report field quantities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
