Job summary
The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an entry-level engineer in New Haven, CT to support project teams across construction activities, scheduling, budgeting and design issue resolution. Reporting to a Project Manager or Superintendent, you will assist with coordination among owners, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors on a active site.
You will gain hands-on experience in reading drawings, preparing documentation, and tracking project milestones while contributing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and documents.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and scheduling tools.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Support estimating, bidding, scheduling, and cost-tracking activities.
- Resolve design issues and clarify contractor questions on site.
- Draft contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language.
- Attend project meetings and coordinate field activities.
- Ensure work aligns with quality standards, contract specs, and safety requirements.
