Job summary

Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking entry-level engineers to support management of construction projects in the Washington, DC metro area. Reporting to a project manager or superintendent, you will assist with coordination among owners, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors.

The role includes assisting in estimating, reviewing design documents, and tracking costs to help keep projects on budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management, Construction Technology.
• Knowledge of engineering principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Assist in estimating and bidding processes and tracking costs to manage project budget.
• Resolve design issues and field changes.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals and change orders.
• Provide field support to ensure contract compliance and quality control.
• Assist in documenting project progress and milestones.
