Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Wilmington, NC. No experience is required as you will be trained under experienced professionals and learn to safely perform tests on soils, aggregates, and concrete. Starting pay is $18–$20 per hour.

The role includes field observations, testing, data collection, and coordination with project teams. ECS provides training and certification opportunities to advance your career in the construction

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with contractors and team members
• Willingness to learn ECS methods and safety practices
• Must be able to lift up to 85 pounds and work in field conditions

Responsibilities

• Observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete on sites.
• Perform routine field and laboratory tests following industry standards.
• Collect data, perform calculations, and assist with drafting or admin duties.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; report changes.
• Receive ECS training and document findings per engineering practices.
