Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Observe, test, and sample materials (soils, aggregates, concrete) on project sites under guidance.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and laboratory tests following industry standards.
• Data Collection: Do calculations and data reduction from tests and sampling; assist with drafting and admin tasks as needed.
• Communication: Maintain daily site communication with contractors and project managers; report changes and testing requests.
• Training and Development: Receive ECS training and document findings per accepted engineering practices.
