Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Dover, Delaware is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician. No experience is required, and training will be provided to learn to safely perform field observations, testing, and sampling under supervision.

As you grow, ECS supports certifications and professional development (OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, and DOT programs) while you collaborate with contractors and project teams.

Qualifications

  • No experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • OSHA 10 certification may be required.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Observe, test, and sample materials (soils, aggregates, concrete) on project sites.
  • Execute tasks per project requirements under guidance of senior staff.
  • Testing procedures: conduct routine field or lab tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete per industry standards.
  • Data collection: perform calculations and data reduction from sampling and test results.
  • Communication: maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers.
  • Training and development: receive training in ECS methodology and document findings precisely.
