Job summary

ECS Limited in Long Beach, MS is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician. No experience required; you will learn under experienced professionals to safely perform a range of tasks on construction sites.

You will conduct field tests on soils, aggregates, and concrete, collect data, communicate with site teams, and pursue certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety through ECS training programs.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials, including soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites; perform tasks under guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling and test results; assist with calculations, drafting, and other duties.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report site conditions and testing needs.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings with precision.
