Job summary

The State of Iowa is seeking a full-time claims processor to support the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt. You will process claims, assist walk-ins, and respond to inquiries by phone and email while supporting outreach events.

Ideal candidates are customer-focused with strong written and verbal communication, analytical problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn new computer systems. Regular office presence is required, with potential for limited remote work after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Four-year bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt; comfortable with new computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Process claims as directed by a manager.
• Research and identify potential fraud.
• Provide support requested by the manager.
• Assist walk-ins with claims as requested.
• Answer and return phone calls, emails and mail promptly.
• Help plan and staff GITH outreach events.
• Propose ideas to outreach team to improve program reach.
• Complete duties assigned by the manager or Treasurer to support the office mission.
• Provide backup as needed by any area of the office.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to final recommendations.
