Job summary

Moffatt & Nichol in Carson City, NV is seeking an entry-level civil engineer to support planning, design, and plan production for site development and infrastructure projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater systems.

You will work under close supervision on structured assignments, building foundational civil engineering knowledge and project workflows, with room to grow into more independent design work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 0-2 years of experience preferred and encouraged for EIT/FE.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering fundamentals (grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, site layout).
• Exposure to AutoCAD; learning MicroStation or Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of engineering design documents, plans, and specifications under direct supervision.
• Prepare drawings and draft documents under direction.
• Collect and organize field data, reports, maps, and geotechnical/hydrological data.
• Support feasibility studies and environmental data assembly.
• Assist with cost calculations for labor and materials.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
