LJA Land Development is seeking a Graduate Engineer I to join our employee-owned team in Houston. You will use AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office to support feasibility studies, cost opinions, exhibits, construction plans, takeoffs, bid packages, and development tasks for diverse clients.

You'll collaborate with engineers and mentors to grow technical skills while contributing to design iterations, project documentation, and client communications in a fast-paced, supportive

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS desired.
• Passed the FE Exam.
• Team mentality and collaboration skills.
• Previous engineering industry experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical experts, peers, and support roles to perform design calculations, prepare equipment or material specifications, and generate technical drawings and exhibits.
• Expand your engineering toolbox and vocabulary to add knowledge of advanced techniques, applied theory, industry concepts, and best practices.
• Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables; supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems and possible solutions.
• Work in an office with meeting rooms, amenities, and technology.
• Investigate existing site conditions and constraints to inform design iterations.
• Check-ins with your manager and mentors to identify growth opportunities.
• Provide information to inform client and internal decision-making on project objectives.
