Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Substitution: paralegal/legal secretarial training may substitute for two years of required training.
• Or experience in a legal setting involving legal research, reading and interpreting laws, preparing documents.
• Or experience in debt collection, credit investigations, criminal investigations, law enforcement, accounting, or auditing.
• Or as an Economic Service Worker or Family Support Specialist; any combination may substitute for training.
• Substitution rate: one year of experience per 30 semester hours of training.
• Special Requirement: valid driver’s license and vehicle available for continuous use.

Responsibilities

• Process cases under supervision and prepare case files for BCSE Attorney.
• Locate parents, assets and sources of income for child support calculations.
• Respond to customer service inquiries and resolve initial issues.
• Prepare routine correspondence and maintain confidentiality information.
• Progress toward independent caseload management through supervision and training.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Paralegal or legal secretarial training substitution (2 years)

Legal research in a setting with statutes and case law

Experience in debt collections, credit investigations, or law enforcement

Economic Service Worker or Family Support Specialist background

Any combination substituting training for experience (1 year per 30 semester hours)

Special Requirement: valid driver’s license and vehicle for continuous use
