Job summary

JMS Technical Solutions is seeking an Entry-Level Buyer in Buffalo, NY, on-site, full-time, direct hire. Salary is $22-$25 per hour, based on experience.

You'll build a foundation in purchasing, manage purchase orders, pricing, supplier availability, and ERP usage, while learning from experienced professionals and supporting manufacturing operations. No extensive purchasing experience is required; we value curiosity, detail, and the willingness to learn as you grow.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of professional experience in purchasing, supply chain, or administrative roles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable with numbers, pricing, and data analysis.
• Customer- and supplier-facing communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Review daily purchasing requirements and take action to ensure materials and supplies are ordered when needed.
• Create, process, and maintain purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Work with Sourcing Specialists and other members of the Purchasing team to source raw materials and finished goods that meet business and customer requirements.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, order status, and delivery expectations.
• Build strong supplier relationships while developing your skills in negotiation, pricing, payment terms, and shipping terms.
• Follow up on open purchase orders and proactively identify potential delays or supply concerns.
• Process dropship requests and coordinate the information needed to support customer orders.
• Maintain supplier information, including vendor certifications and required documentation.
• Keep purchasing and order information current within Oracle and other ERP systems, providing accurate and timely information across departments.
• Purchase MRO materials, office supplies, and other operational items as assigned.
• Partner with Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Quality, and other departments to communicate changes in pricing, availability, lead times, and supply conditions.
• Learn to recognize supply chain risks and elevate potential issues before they impact production or our customers.
• Follow established Purchasing procedures and work instructions while identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Support Sealing Devices' Quality System and our commitment to delivering high-quality products to our customers.
• Take on additional purchasing and supply chain responsibilities as your knowledge, skills, and experience grow.

Our client in Western NY is looking for an Entry-Level Buyer to join their team!

This is an on-site/full-time/direct hire position

Our client's Entry-Level Buyer position offers the opportunity to build a strong foundation in Purchasing and Supply Chain while gaining hands‑on experience with suppliers, purchase orders, pricing, material availability, ERP systems, and manufacturing operations. Qualifications

We're looking for potential - not necessarily years of purchasing experience.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Logistics, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
• 0-2 years of professional experience. Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, customer service, manufacturing, inventory, logistics, or an administrative role.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to organize priorities, manage multiple open items, and follow through.
• Comfortable working with numbers, pricing, spreadsheets, and data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with suppliers and internal teams.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a willingness to ask questions and learn.
• Comfortable learning and working within new technology and business systems.
• Experience with Oracle or another ERP system is a plus — we can teach the system; we're looking for someone ready to learn.
• Microsoft Excel experience is helpful.
