Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking an Associate Buyer to support procurement activities for our production facility. The role focuses on issuing purchase orders, tracking supplier commitments, and maintaining procurement records to ensure materials are available for production.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Business Admin, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of purchasing, supply chain, customer service, planning, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to learn procurement and supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders and track supplier commitments.
• Maintain purchasing records within ERP systems.
• Monitor open orders and communicate with suppliers regarding shipment status.
• Support pull‑in and push‑out activities to align deliveries with production requirements.
• Coordinate with Quality and Operations on supplier issues.
• Assist with tracking corrective actions and supplier responses.
• Help ensure purchased materials meet company requirements.
• Help maintain inventory levels to support production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Support Skills

• Build and maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers.
• Follow up on purchase order acknowledgments and delivery commitments.
• Escalate supplier delivery or quality concerns to senior purchasing staff as needed.

• Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
• Review shortages and work with suppliers to expedite critical materials.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of purchasing, supply chain, customer service, planning, or manufacturing experience.
