Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Early Career Building Technology Systems professional for our Houston, TX office. You will assist in the design, development, testing, and inspection of smart building projects within the Property & Buildings Team, contributing to local projects with a converged network approach and intelligent systems.

Your role involves data collection, site condition inspections, basic design tasks, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with process and concepts for smart building design and technology.
• Familiarity with installation laws, codes, and compliance practices.
• Interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficiency with technical writing and standard office tools.
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, CAM.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from site, surveys, blueprints, and reports.
• Conduct basic professional building technology work and inspections of site conditions.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies.
• Verify site characteristics and assist with design and integration of smart building systems.
• Generate documentation and specifications using diagrams, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Follow safety guidelines and site procedures.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and policies.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
