Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a project-focused engineer/designer to support the design and documentation of future-ready building technology systems across diverse projects. The role involves coordination with multi-discipline teams, site surveys, and contributing to construction support activities.

The position is hybrid, requiring 1–2 days per week in a regional office with travel as needed. A US security clearance may be required for certain projects, and a strong emphasis on safety and code compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 3–5+ years of experience supporting the design of Structured Cabling, Electronic Security, AV, or other building technology systems in AEC/tech infra industries.
• Working knowledge of codes/standards (IBC, NFPA, BICSI, ANSI/TIA, AVIXA, ADA).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and documentation of Structured Cabling, Electronic Security, and/or AV systems, including telecommunications infrastructure, pathways, spaces, and components.
• Support design deliverables from schematic design through construction documentation.
• Participate in project coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Gather and document client requirements and existing conditions information.
• Prepare design narratives, drawings, specifications, and supporting project documentation under senior staff guidance.
• Review submittals and RFIs and assist in preparing responses.
• Perform site surveys and existing conditions assessments and document findings.
• Coordinate technology system requirements with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
